{"id":726842,"date":"2026-06-10T05:52:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T05:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/726842\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T05:52:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T05:52:08","slug":"international-picnic-day-event-in-surrey-park-play-and-other-dates-this-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/726842\/","title":{"rendered":"International Picnic Day event in Surrey, Park Play and other dates this summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              International Picnic Day event in Surrey, Park Play and other dates this summer<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 9:00 pm Tuesday, June 9, 2026<\/p>\n<p>International Picnic Day is celebrated in Surrey with the first of several community picnics this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Pack a picnic blanket for a free outdoor event Saturday, June 13 in Newton at Dominion Park, 8225 134 St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConnect with friends, family and your community,\u201d the city\u2019s website says. \u201cEnjoy music, a rock climbing wall, mini-golf, community partners and other fun park activities at Dominion Park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This summer, Surrey\u2019s community picnics happen Thursdays at parks across the city starting at 5:30 p.m., rain or shine:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 June 18: Erma Stephenson Park (15920 110 Ave.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 June 25: Forsyth Park (10632 139 Street)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 July 2: Chimney Heights Parks (14677 74 Ave.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 July 9: Fleetwood Park (15802 80 Ave.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 July 16: Edgewood Park (2284 165 St.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 July 23: Goldstone Park (5850 146 St.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 July 30: Adams Road Park (18160 68 Ave.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Aug. 6: Hawthorne Rotary Park (10513 144 St.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Aug. 13: Maple Green Park (8959 150 St.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Aug. 20: Strawberry Hill Park (7676 122 St.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Aug. 27: Guildford Heights Park (10310 154 St.)<\/p>\n<p>Other community events this summer include Park Play (\u201cborrow sporting equipment, try a seek-and-find or join in a group game\u201d), Mobile Library (a small library on wheels with over 1,000 items to borrow, check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surreylibraries.ca\/mobile-library\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">surreylibraries.ca\/mobile-library<\/a> for dates and locations) and Playful Places (pop-up games, events and installations May to September at Surrey Civic Plaza, Hawthorne Square and 137th Street Parklet in Newton).<\/p>\n<p>Park Play dates for 2026 are Mondays from 4 to 6 p.m. at T.E Scott Park (7014 148 St.), Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. at Holly Park (10706 148 St.), Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at Robertson Drive Park (12714 92 Ave.) and Thursdays at the community picnic sites noted above.<\/p>\n<p>Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. are \u201cnext-level Park Play\u201d events with themed games, crafts and more \u2014 June 26 and July 3 at Bear Creek Park (13750 88 Ave.), July 17 at Bakerview Park (1845 154 St.), July 31 and Aug. 7 at Hazelgrove Park (7080 190 St.) and Aug. 21 at Unwin Park (13313 68 Ave.).<\/p>\n<p>Community partners include Approach Climbing, Bells &amp;
