This three-storey house up the street from Upper Canada College has an elevator, six bedrooms and six bathrooms, but by the time they were finished building it in 2016, it had outgrown the owner\u2019s needs. After leasing it for years, they took a shot at finding a buyer last fall, priced at about $6-million. <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause this home was custom-built for the owners to live in, they went all out, putting in high-end features you would not normally find,\u201d said agent Dino Capocci. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was also bigger than what you\u2019d normally find.\u201d <\/p>\n

The sellers declined one offer and made several price reductions over the colder months. By March, the asking price was $5.18-million, but the sellers accepted an offer of $4.7-million. <\/p>\n

\u201cOriole Parkway doesn\u2019t see a lot [of homes] sell over $4-million,\u201d Mr. Capocci said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were houses at the time I felt were kind of competition, and most are still for sale.\u201d <\/p>\n

What they got <\/p>\n

Architect Paul Dowsett and interior designer Phillip Moody collaborated on the design of this detached house with an attached, double garage and a heated driveway on a 50- by 124-foot lot. <\/p>\n

There are gas fireplaces in two entertaining areas on the main floor, as well as a primary bedroom on the second floor. <\/p>\n

The formal dining room and eat-in kitchen are connected by a butler\u2019s pantry. <\/p>\n

The flooring is heated in most areas, including six bedrooms on the upper levels. <\/p>\n

There are laundry rooms and decks on three levels. <\/p>\n
