Winnipeg police are asking for your help in tracking down two armed robbers who allegedly stole $300,000 worth of jewellery in April.<\/p>\n

In security footage, two men could be seen wearing masks, entering Gatewest Coin on April 29 just before 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Video shows one person smashing a display case before putting the jewellery in a bag. The other man can be seen holding a gun by the store\u2019s entrance. The pair stole 190 gold rings, which Jasmine Allen \u2014 the vice-president of Gatewest Coin \u2014 says was a total value of roughly $100,000. And with them selling them for about triple that, the retail value sums up to about $300,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had a duffle bag with him, quickly scooped out all of the trays of gold rings that we had. Our smoke cloak went off when we pushed the panic button, and they made their way out,\u201d said Allen.<\/p>\n

Allen was a minute out of the store before the robbery took place. There were no injuries reported, but she says her employees are shaken up after the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor myself, getting the call, of course, the first question is, is everybody OK? I got the yes, but it\u2019s still when you get that news, even when you\u2019re not physically here at the time, it\u2019s pretty shaking,\u201c said Allen.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely difficult for everybody to deal with because we\u2019ve had some of them have trouble sleeping. Now you\u2019re stuck in this hypervigilant state trying to make sure that everybody coming in doesn\u2019t have hats, doesn\u2019t have sunglasses on. When you\u2019re trying to do a transaction, you\u2019re worried about who\u2019s coming in the store and what you\u2019re trying to do is very difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gatewest Coin has been in business since 1972, and Allen says this is the first serious incident that they have had, but it\u2019s not stopping them from continuing their business.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanna make sure that we can keep doing the business that we\u2019ve been doing since 1972. We wanna make sure that we can continue supporting the community back with all of our charity work, and we need customers in the door to be able to continue doing that,\u201d said Allen.<\/p>\n

One of the men has been described as wearing a black freezer-style jacket with a \u201cWest trans\u201d logo on it, a black neck warmer, a blue \u201cAdidas\u201d hat, white shoes, and black pants.<\/p>\n

The other man has been described as wearing a black North Face jacket, a black neck warmer, large leather gloves, white shoes, and blue jeans.<\/p>\n

Police are asking if anyone has any information to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.<\/p>\n
