Alex Cooper is burying the rumors about her marriage being on the rocks. <\/p>\n
During Wednesday\u2019s episode of her \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d<\/a> podcast, Cooper, who is expecting her first baby with husband Matt Kaplan, shut down speculation weeks after reports about \u201ctension\u201d<\/a> in their marriage surfaced.<\/p>\n Cooper explained how the rumors stemmed from a stressful red-carpet event she and Kaplan attended in May. However, she said the gossip ultimately worked out in the couple\u2019s favor \u2014 because it helped her conceal her pregnancy from the public. <\/p>\n The podcaster said she hadn\u2019t announced her pregnancy before the event, and became anxious after she struggled to hide her growing baby bump the day of the event, when the outfit she planned to wear to disguise her pregnancy didn\u2019t fit anymore. <\/p>\n \u201cI started hyperventilating,\u201d she said, noting that the buttons on her outfit began popping off. \u201cI\u2019m a mess. And [Matt\u2019s] so supportive. He\u2019s, like, trying to help me rejigger the thing. I\u2019ve got my Spanx literally hiked up to my nipples. We\u2019re about to be late. I am sucking in for dear life. I\u2019m trying to make this work as we walk out the door.\u201d<\/p>\n Cooper ultimately attended the event without inadvertently spilling the beans about her pregnancy, telling her 2 million-plus subscribers that she was actually fine with people assuming that the pair were having marital issues, versus people finding out she was expecting. <\/p>\n \u201cTo see people overanalyzing Matt and I as we are earnestly trying to hide this pregnancy, I was so relieved that they were talking about our dynamic, our supposed marital issues, and no one was talking about a potential bump. It was a win for the Cooper-Kaplans that day. Matt and I went to bed holding hands and we were like, \u2018We survived another day.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThe only rumors that actually came from the carpet is just how miserable my husband and I looked. I said, \u2018Babe, that is a win for a win for a win,\u2019\u201d she added. \u201cThese people, you guys, are dissecting Matt and my body language together on the carpet saying, \u2018This looks like an arranged marriage. Like, this relationship looks like a business deal.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Despite being satisfied with how the red carpet went, Cooper called out how \u201cinsane\u201d the rumor mill can be online, calling it an \u201codd part\u201d of her job that she doesn\u2019t enjoy. <\/p>\n \u201cYou read those things, and Matt and I are like, \u2018No one in our life, our closest friends, our family, is wondering those things\u2019. But then it is crazy to see the internet be like, \u2018Oh my God, they\u2019re on the rocks.\u2019 And we\u2019re like, \u2018Wait, wait. We are? What\u2019s happening?\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cBut Matt and I are good. No one needs to worry.
