Owners of this three-bedroom house moved out for the last week of April, giving potential buyers ample time to visit and mull an offer. A low asking price lured crowds to the detached home, less than a kilometre from Glen Stewart Ravine and shops and restaurants on Kingston Road. Three guests made quick offers and the sellers chose one that went $401,000 over asking.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s on a coveted street, it\u2019s detached and there wasn\u2019t a lot of competition in that the other properties on the market were semis,\u201d said agent Shea Warrington. <\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, in this market, good product is still selling.\u201d <\/p>\n

Ms. Warrington also notes that many buyers were quick to emotionally connect with the quaint property, built in 1927. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt has a Glen Manor, Tudor-style design, which we don\u2019t have a ton of in the Beach,\u201d said Ms. Warrington. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt has a lot of unique features with the roofline and [red] front door.\u201d <\/p>\n

The family room has an exit to a west-facing deck with a trellis. The fencing and roof of the garage, accessed via a mutual driveway, were recently replaced on the 25- by 100-foot lot. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe way the kitchen opened to the dining room was really great and a main-floor family room is hard to find at this price point,\u201d Ms. Warrington said. <\/p>\n
