BALTIMORE (AP) \u2014 Pete Alonso<\/a> homered to cap a six-run third inning against Bryan Woo<\/a>, and the Baltimore Orioles<\/a> withstood three homers by the Seattle Mariners<\/a> in a 7-5 victory Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Adley Rutschman<\/a> drove in three runs and Colton Cowser<\/a> hit a solo shot to help the Orioles salvage a split of the four-game series with the AL West-leading Mariners.<\/p>\n

Cole Young<\/a>, Luke Raley<\/a> and Dominic Canzone<\/a> homered for Seattle. All three drives were off Kyle Bradish<\/a>, who hadn\u2019t given up more than two homers in his previous 80 major league starts.<\/p>\n

Bradish lasted only four innings. He was replaced by Tyler Wells<\/a> (1-1), who pitched three hitless innings.<\/p>\n

Grant Wolfram<\/a> retired Colt Emerson<\/a> with two on and two outs in the eighth, and Andrew Kittredge<\/a> worked the ninth for his first save.<\/p>\n

Young started the slugfest by hitting the third pitch of the game over the right-field wall, his first career leadoff homer.<\/p>\n

Woo (5-5) retired the first six Baltimore batters before Cowser went deep leading off the third. After Woo let in a run with a bases-loaded wild pitch, Rutschman hit a two-run double and Alonso sent Woo\u2019s next pitch deep into the left-field seats for a 6-1 lead.<\/p>\n

MARLINS 2, DIAMONDBACKS 0<\/p>\n

MIAMI (AP) \u2014 Tyler Phillips<\/a> allowed two hits in five innings to get his first win of the season and lead Miami to a victory against Arizona.<\/p>\n

Phillips (1-1) struck out five and walked two on 70 pitches. Relievers Michael Petersen<\/a>, Anthony Bender<\/a> and Calvin Faucher<\/a> combined to strike out six, and Pete Fairbanks<\/a> earned his eighth save of the year after striking out two more.<\/p>\n

Otto Lopez<\/a> stole third in the first inning and was originally ruled out. After the review, the call was overturned, and Xavier Edwards<\/a> hit a sacrifice fly to send him home and take an early lead. Jakob Marsee<\/a> hit an RBI single in the fourth to send Kyle Stowers<\/a> home.<\/p>\n

Merrill Kelly<\/a> (5-5) pitched six innings for the Diamondbacks, giving up both runs on four hits. He struck out one and walked two.<\/p>\n

Ketel Marte<\/a>, LuJames Groover and Jorge Barrosa<\/a> had Arizona\u2019s three hits.<\/p>\n

METS 5, CARDINALS 4<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Juan Soto<\/a> hit a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning and New York earned a win over St. Louis.<\/p>\n

Soto\u2019s shot off JoJo Romero<\/a> (0-2) allowed the Mets to avoid being swept for the sixth time this season.<\/p>\n

Soto\u2019s 14th homer of the season was the sixth of the game.<\/p>\n

Alec Burleson<\/a> opened the scoring with a two-out blast in the first before the Mets responded with Bo Bichette<\/a>\u2019s two-run shot and Jared Young<\/a> also went deep in the bottom half to give New York a 3-1 lead.<\/p>\n

St. Louis answered with Lars Nootbaar<\/a>\u2019s solo shot and Jimmy Crooks<\/a>\u2019 two-run homer in the second to give the Cards a 4-3 lead on an afternoon in which the first-pitch temperature was 91 degrees and the wind was blowing out to right at 8 mph. Every homer Thursday except Bichette\u2019s went to right field.<\/p>\n

Young accounted for the game\u2019s only non-homer RBI with a game-tying fifth-inning single.<\/p>\n

Mets starter Christian Scott<\/a> gave up four runs and struck out six in 4 2\/3 innings. The Cardinals\u2019 Hunter Dobbins<\/a> allowed three runs with five strikeouts in 4 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

Brooks Raley<\/a> (2-1) threw a hitless seventh. Devin Williams<\/a> earned his ninth save with a perfect ninth.<\/p>\n

TIGERS 11, TWINS 0<\/p>\n

DETROIT (AP) \u2014 Spencer Torkelson<\/a> hit one of Detroit\u2019s six homers and the Tigers rolled to a win over Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Colt Keith<\/a>, Gleyber Torres<\/a>, Riley Greene<\/a>, Zach McKinstry<\/a> and Wenceel P\u00e9rez also went deep for Detroit.<\/p>\n

Leading 2-0, Torkelson hit a two-run shot in the fourth inning for his 10th of the season.<\/p>\n

Torres made it 5-0 in the fifth before Keith hit a two-run shot for his first of the year in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Greene in the seventh and McKinstry added solo shots before P\u00e9rez capped the surge with a two-run shot to left-center in the eighth.<\/p>\n

Kevin McGonigle<\/a> hit a leadoff double in the first and scored on Greene\u2019s sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n

Tigers starting Keider Montero<\/a> (3-4) allowed four hits, struck out four and walked one in 6 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

Zebby Matthews<\/a> (2-4) gave up nine hits, including three homers, and seven runs. He struck out four and walked one.<\/p>\n

CUBS 9, ROCKIES 3<\/p>\n

DENVER (AP) \u2014 Seiya Suzuki<\/a> hit his third career grand slam, Alex Bregman<\/a> added a two-run homer and Chicago snapped a three-game skid with a win over Colorado.<\/p>\n

Chicago, which had scored three or fewer runs in seven of its last nine games before Thursday, had its highest run total since beating Pittsburgh 10-4 on May 27.<\/p>\n

Cubs manager Craig Counsell was ejected in the top of the sixth by home plate umpire Louis Krupa after arguing Moises Ballesteros<\/a>\u2019 double-play grounder appeared to hit off his shin guard and should have been ruled a foul ball.<\/p>\n

Brett Sullivan<\/a> hit two home runs and Cole Carrigg, who made his MLB debut Tuesday night, added a solo shot for Colorado.<\/p>\n

Rockies starter Ryan Feltner<\/a> (2-2) retired the first nine batters he faced before Pete Crow-Armstrong<\/a> led off the fourth with a single. The Cubs added another single and walk to load the bases before Suzuki lined a sinker down the left-field line for his 10th homer of the season and first slam since September of last season.<\/p>\n

The Cubs added two more runs in the fifth, Bregman hit his sixth homer in the seventh, and Carson Kelly<\/a> capped the scoring with a solo shot, his third, in the eighth.<\/p>\n

RANGERS 4, ROYALS 2<\/p>\n

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) \u2014 Corey Seager<\/a> homered and singled to lead Texas to a victory over Kansas City.<\/p>\n

The Rangers took two of three from the Royals and have won nine of 12 games and four straight series to reach .500 \u2014 at 34-34 \u2014 for the first time since May 1.<\/p>\n

Texas jumped ahead 2-0 on Brandon Nimmo<\/a>\u2019s RBI double in the first inning and Elias D\u00edaz\u2019s squeeze bunt single in the second.<\/p>\n

Leading off the third, Seager hit his ninth home run into the right field bullpen off Royals starter Michael Wacha<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kansas City loaded the bases to open the fourth against Kumar Rocker<\/a> and scored a pair of runs on a double-play grounder and Kameron Misner<\/a>\u2019s RBI single, his first hit with the Royals.<\/p>\n

Rocker left with two outs in the fifth after allowing two runs and five hits. Jacob Latz<\/a> (2-1), the last of three Texas relievers, struck out three in two hitless innings.<\/p>\n

Evan Carter<\/a>\u2019s RBI single in the sixth capped the scoring.<\/p>\n

Joc Pederson<\/a> remained out of the Rangers\u2019 lineup after leaving Wednesday\u2019s game with left hip discomfort.<\/p>\n

DODGERS 8, PIRATES 6<\/p>\n

PITTSBURGH (AP) \u2014 Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani<\/a> hit his 13th homer of the season before leaving the game due to left knee inflammation and Los Angeles beat Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

The reigning NL MVP hit a solo homer in the third inning. He also had a single and walked twice, reaching base in all four of his plate appearances before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the seventh inning.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear when Ohtani began feeling discomfort in the knee. <\/p>\n

Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski<\/a> left the game in the fifth inning with a left hamstring contusion. The left-hander was hit by a line drive off the bat of Bryan Reynolds<\/a>. The ball ricocheted off Wrobleski to first baseman Freddie Freeman<\/a>. Wrobleski collided with Reynolds while taking Freeman\u2019s toss at first base.<\/p>\n

Andy Pages<\/a> also had two hits for the NL West-leading Dodgers, who took two of three in the series. Kyle Tucker<\/a> hit a two-run single, and Miguel Rojas<\/a> drove in two more runs.<\/p>\n

Pirates rookie Rafael Flores<\/a> Jr. hit his first MLB home run, and Brandon Lowe<\/a> also went deep. Flores, Nick Gonzales<\/a> and Spencer Horwitz<\/a> had two hits apiece.<\/p>\n

Wrobleski allowed four runs in 4 2\/3 innings. Mitch Keller<\/a> (5-4) was tagged for five runs in four innings.<\/p>\n

Jack Dreyer<\/a> (3-1) pitched a scoreless seventh inning and Tanner Scott<\/a> got the last four outs for his seventh save.<\/p>\n
