Shane Bieber<\/a> pitched five scoreless innings against the Syracuse Mets in his second rehab start with the Buffalo Bisons on Thursday. <\/p>\n

He gave up five hits while striking out four batters on 62 pitches. His four-seam fastball had an average velocity of 91.3 mph. The Bisons took a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning. <\/p>\n

It was Bieber\u2019s second rehab start with the Triple-A Bisons. In his previous start against the Worcester Red Sox on June 6, Bieber gave up three runs on six hits in 2.2 innings. <\/p>\n

Bieber missed the first two months of the MLB season with forearm fatigue. His last start for the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> was in Game 4 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>, during which he gave up one run in 5.1 innings. <\/p>\n

He also pitched for the Blue Jays in the 11th inning of Game 7. He gave up a solo home run to Will Smith<\/a>, which would be the winning run for the Dodgers. <\/p>\n

Alejandro Kirk<\/a> hit a double in the third inning as the Bisons designated hitter. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s Kirk third game with the Bisons as part of his rehab assignment.
