BUFFALO, NY\u00a0\u2013 University at Buffalo Men’s Tennis Associate Head Coach\u00a0Tony Miller<\/a>\u00a0was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Assistant Coach of the Year for the New England Region, the ITA announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Just concluding his ninth season on Head Coach\u00a0Lee Nickell<\/a>‘s staff, Miller helped lead Buffalo to a historic season in 2025-26 as they recorded a 16-7 overall record and 8-2 mark in league play. The Bulls captured both the regular season and tournament championship titles for the second straight year, accomplishing that feat for the first time in program history.<\/p>\n

The top-seeded Bulls defeated Ball State in the semifinals before taking down Northern Illinois in the championship match to earn the title and an NCAA Tournament berth. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Miller is a 2017 graduate of UB with a degree in communication. He had a standout career on the courts for the Bulls, leading Buffalo to MAC Championships in 2015 and 2017 before embarking on his coaching career.
