Selena Gomez hit back at claims she \u201cinsulted\u201d her BFF Taylor Swift with a shady social media comment following the Knicks\u2019 big win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cwoke up and was sent so many texts,\u201d she wrote on her Instagram Stories Thursday. \u201cI would never insult my friends nor was it an insult.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThe comment was a reaction to the first slide on the page,\u201d the actress explained, referring to her writing \u201clol\u201d on a post<\/a> of her bestie and Mariska Hargitay celebrating Game 4 in matching Knicks merch<\/a> as the NY-based team defeated the San Antonio Spurs.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the actress explained why she commented \u201clol\u201d on a pic of her bestie celebrating the Knicks\u2019 win, which many fans thought was shady. MTV\/Instagram<\/p>\n

\u201cBelieve it or not I do have other friends in my life. But quickly forget that most assume otherwise,\u201d Gomez noted. Instagram\/Selena Gomez<\/p>\n

\u201cSecond I bet my friends on the game,\u201d Gomez continued. \u201cThe friends in the text chain I posted. I lost but was poking at my opponents, my friends. Believe it or not I do have other friends in my life. But quickly forget that most assume otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201calso .. It\u2019s a basketball game,\u201d the \u201cSame Old Love\u201d songstress concluded. <\/p>\n

Following Game 4 of the NBA finals, the Texas native took to her Instagram Stories to express her \u201cheartbreak\u201d<\/a> for the Spurs\u2019 loss \u2014 while Swift was celebrating courtside in Madison Square Garden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, a second post from Gomez raised some eyebrows when she wrote, \u201cMad respect for the game!! Congrats to the peeps that represent! What a comeback. So funny how some are all the sudden [sic] fans though lol.\u201d<\/p>\n
