{"id":734636,"date":"2026-06-13T17:52:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T17:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/734636\/"},"modified":"2026-06-13T17:52:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T17:52:09","slug":"it-must-be-tough-to-stick-with-me-leclerc-ashamed-and-disappointed-after-crash-racefans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/734636\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cIt must be tough to stick with me\u201d: Leclerc \u201cashamed and disappointed\u201d after crash \u2013 RaceFans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dejected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.racefans.net\/charles-leclerc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charles Leclerc<\/a> said it must be hard for people to support him after he crashed out of qualifying in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Six days after his crash in the Monaco Grand Prix, Leclerc slid into a barrier at the start of Q3, meaning he will start tomorrow\u2019s race from 10th on the grid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m okay, apart from feeling very ashamed of coming here to speak in front of the camera after another \u2018what if\u2019,\u201d said Leclerc after qualifying. \u201cUnfortunately, last week was the same with \u2018what if we didn\u2019t have that issue\u2019, this weekend it\u2019s \u2018what if I didn\u2019t do that mistake\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari have brought a significant upgrade to their car this weekend. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.racefans.net\/lewis-hamilton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> qualified his Ferrari on the front row of the grid, splitting the Mercedes, leaving Leclerc deeply disappointed over his missed opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel ashamed of not putting everything together on what was a very positive weekend so far,\u201d he said. \u201cThe feeling is back and I\u2019m still optimistic for tomorrow but I should be starting higher up and I don\u2019t because of a mistake of mine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel ashamed and disappointed, I mean I feel ashamed for disappointing so many people that are supporting us and it must be tough to stick with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc said his upgraded car felt strong around the lap but turn four, where he crashed, was a particular weakness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Q2 lap was really good, I think all corners we were the strongest or nearly and turn four was the weak corner for me.
