Courtesy of Alamy.<\/p>\n<p>Just about to start \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d promotional rounds, actor\/producer Matt Damon has revealed that he is open to returning as amnesiac former CIA agent Jason Bourne for another entry in that series.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, in a recent interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/entertainment\/matt-damon-interview-bourne-franchise-rapper-water-nonprofit\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Parade<\/a> magazine, Damon indicates he\u2019s open to hearing some pitches for it:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always looking to try to get another one of those because we loved it, everyone who worked on them. So there\u2019s always some attempt going on to write, to come up with a new story. So if you have anything, let us know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rights to the original Robert Ludlum \u201cThe Bourne Identity\u201d novel, which had been held at Universal Pictures and led to the creation of its famed franchise, went on the market last year before returning to Universal.  Frank Marshall, as always, will produce.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConclave\u201d director Edward Berger has been attached to direct the next film for a few years now and about a year ago he says he\u2019d still do it if Damon wants to.  At the time, \u201cBlack Doves\u201d showrunner Joe Barton was penning a script.<\/p>\n<p>The franchise overall has pulled in $1.64 billion at the global box office and is generally considered the most successful spy film franchise after James Bond.<\/p>\n<p>Damon is rumored to be up for the lead in \u201cEverything Everywhere All At Once\u201d directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert\u2019s next film also at Universal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Universal Pictures.
