S. area shortly after 4 a.m.<\/p>\n Police said the shooting occurred during a home invasion. Cops alleged that at least two suspects armed with firearms entered the residence through the rear of the home while the occupants were asleep.<\/p>\n A confrontation occurred, Const. Tyler Bell-Morena said, after the suspects entered the home, leading to shots being fired inside the residence.<\/p>\n Paramedics transported a man and a woman to a trauma centre. The suspects fled from the area and are still wanted. Supt. Jack Gurr said an argument broke out in the area and escalated into a fight involving multiple people.<\/p>\n Officers arrived and found a man who had been injured and struck by a vehicle. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures at the scene; however, the victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n Police said a second person was also transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and that the homicide unit has taken over the investigation.<\/p>\n Investigators said a light-coloured vehicle was seen fleeing the area shortly afterward.
