{"id":737107,"date":"2026-06-14T23:17:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T23:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/737107\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T23:17:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T23:17:09","slug":"2026-canadian-open-money-heres-how-much-every-player-made","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/737107\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 Canadian Open money: Here\u2019s how much every player made\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"first\">Just a few years ago, Bud Cauley was a forgotten name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now he\u2019s right in the throes of PGA Tour competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cauley was an amateur star, playing college golf at Alabama with Justin Thomas and became the 7th player to earn enough money on the PGA Tour to earn membership without going to Q-School in 2011.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Success didn\u2019t materialize for Cauley as he found himself struggling to maintain his Tour card before a <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/news\/bud-cauley-thankful-to-be-alive-after-scariest-night-of-my-life\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">car crash in 2018<\/a> derailed his dream. Cauley didn\u2019t play a professional event between September 2020 and January 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But he <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/news\/hes-ranked-251st-car-crash-win-players\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reearned his card in 2025 and even played his way into the PGA Tour Signature events<\/a>. This week at the <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/news\/2026-rbc-canadian-open-tv-schedule-watch-tee-times\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">RBC Canadian Open<\/a>, he entered the final round just one off the lead as he seeks his first PGA Tour win.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t really want to think about that now. I guess we\u2019ll find out when that day happens. I will say, just since I was injured and playing golf now and having gotten married and starting a family, my life \u2014 I think my perspective has changed and my priorities I think are in order,\u201d Cauley said. \u201cSo it\u2019s not the most important thing in the world to me, but it is very important.
