{"id":739904,"date":"2026-06-16T06:18:26","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T06:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/739904\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T06:18:26","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T06:18:26","slug":"see-canadas-hometown-soccer-stars-at-fifa-world-cup-watch-party-in-brampton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/739904\/","title":{"rendered":"See Canada\u2019s hometown soccer stars at FIFA World Cup watch party in Brampton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over a third of Canada\u2019s World Cup team has ties to Brampton, and you can watch the teammates in their hometown at an official FIFA community watch party.<\/p>\n<p>Brampton natives make up a solid portion of Canada\u2019s team in the tournament, including Cyle Larin, whose game-tying goal against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toronto on Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/canada-opens-world-cup-with-1-1-draw-against-bosnia-herzegovina\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pushed Canada to its first-ever point in a World Cup match<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Other Brampton players on this year\u2019s team are Tajon Buchanan, Liam Millar, Jonathan Osorio, Promise David and Jayden Nelson \u2013 who was a late addition to Canada\u2019s roster as a replacement for injured midfielder Marcelo Flores.<\/p>\n<p>With such a large part of the team hailing from Brampton, the city has embraced the World Cup action with game screenings in Garden Square.
