With a busy weekend of racing around the globe, it was easy to miss the Canmore MTB Classic<\/a>. But it keeps getting bigger. And this year it drew riders from around the world to the Canmore Nordic Centre. The event is the only Canadian stop for the UCI Mountain Bike Continental Series calendar. Which meant riders arrived from the United States, South America, Australia and New Zealand. They\u2019re all chasing valuable UCI points.\u00a0With the UCI now offering Continental Series riders a route toward World Cup starts, every point matters.<\/p>\n

Logan Sadesky leads Canadian men<\/p>\n

The top Canadian result in the Elite Men XCO race came from Logan Sadesky, who finished second overall behind American Ivan Sippy. Sadesky crossed the line 2:10 behind the winner. F\u00e9lix-Antoine Leclair added another top-10 result for Canada in seventh, while Mathis Duval finished ninth.<\/p>\n

Duval also impressed in Friday\u2019s short track race, finishing fourth in the Elite Men XCC and missing the podium by less than a second.<\/p>\n

Canadian women dominate short track<\/p>\n

The Elite Women XCC race belonged to the Canadians. Elli Clark took the win ahead of L\u00e9a Bouchard and Nico Knoll, completing a Canadian sweep of the podium. Ella Myers finished fourth and Eleanor Winchell fifth, giving Canadian riders five of the top five positions.<\/p>\n

Clark carried that momentum into Sunday\u2019s XCO race, finishing second overall behind Brazil\u2019s Raiza Henrique. Alexia Harel joined her on the podium in third, while Lily-Rose Marois and Maude Ruelland rounded out a strong Canadian showing in fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n

Junior Canadians shine<\/p>\n

The Junior Men\u2019s XCO race featured an almost entirely Canadian podium. Emilien Belzile took the win ahead of Ethan Wood and Collingwood Collective rider Evan Moore. William McFarlane finished sixth and Sagan Goertz eighth.<\/p>\n

The Junior Women\u2019s race also produced several strong Canadian performances. Eliane Blais finished second behind New Zealand\u2019s Millie Junge, while Alexa Haviland was fourth. Collingwood Collective\u2019s Elly Moore finished seventh, followed by Clare Hauber in eighth and Flavie Nadeau in ninth.<\/p>\n
