The Munich Ravens continued to look every bit like one of the European Football Alliance\u2019s early championship favorites Sunday, rolling past the Prague Lions 45\u201313 at Sportpark Unterhaching to remain undefeated.<\/p>\n
Head coach Kendral Ellison\u2019s team entered the matchup unbeaten and facing a winless Prague side still searching for a breakthrough. For a brief stretch late in the first half, the Lions threatened to make the Ravens sweat. The rest of the afternoon, however, belonged to Munich.<\/p>\n
Fast start<\/p>\n
Quarterback Russell Tabor set the tone immediately, driving the Ravens downfield on the opening possession before finding Marvin Rutsch for a seven-yard touchdown. Moments later, Louis Geyer stretched the lead to 14\u20130 with an 18-yard touchdown run, giving Munich full control before Prague had settled into the game.<\/p>\n
The Ravens kept rolling early in the second quarter when Tabor connected with tight end Philip Okonkwo for a 34-yard score. Daniel Schweiger then added a 30-yard field goal to make it 24\u20130 and underline Munich\u2019s dominance on both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n
Lions respond before halftime<\/p>\n
Prague, to its credit, finally found life before halftime. Quarterback Jaylon Henderson hit William Patterson for a 45-yard touchdown with 1:46 left in the second quarter, and after Munich turned the ball over, Henderson and Patterson struck again, this time from 20 yards out with 10 seconds remaining.<\/p>\n
Although the extra point was blocked, the Lions had cut the deficit to 24\u201313 and given themselves a chance entering the break.<\/p>\n
That chance did not last long.<\/p>\n
Ravens pull away<\/p>\n
Munich answered with a long, controlled third-quarter drive capped by a three-yard touchdown run from Justus Seelig. The Ravens defense then tightened the screws, keeping Prague off the scoreboard for the entire second half while forcing Henderson and the Lions into increasingly difficult down-and-distance situations.<\/p>\n
Seelig scored again early in the fourth quarter, another three-yard run that pushed Munich\u2019s lead to 38\u201313. Defensive back Eric K\u00f6nchke then delivered one of the defensive highlights of the day, intercepting Henderson and ending any realistic hope of a Prague comeback.<\/p>\n
With the game decided, Munich\u2019s second offense added the final touch. Backup quarterback Levin Adrom moved the Ravens into scoring range before Benedikt Pohler finished the drive with a 14-yard touchdown run, completing the 45\u201313 win.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead<\/p>\n
For Munich, the victory moves the Ravens to 4\u20130 and keeps them firmly at the top of the EFA race alongside the Nordic Storm. The Ravens now turn toward one of the biggest games of the young season, a June 28 home showdown with the Nordic Storm at Sportpark Unterhaching.<\/p>\n
For Prague, the search for a first win continues. The Lions showed a flash of explosiveness through Henderson and Patterson late in the first half, but could not sustain drives or protect the ball well enough to keep pace with one of the league\u2019s deepest and most balanced teams.<\/p>\n
