WINNIPEG \u2013 A Winnipeg man who was experiencing psychosis when he killed his parents and attacked a colleague, and was later found not criminally responsible for his actions, has had a high-risk label removed.<\/p>\n

Manitoba Court of King\u2019s Bench Justice Kenneth Champagne told a court hearing that he is satisfied Trevor Farley is unlikely to use violence against others, and has revoked the high-risk accused designation.<\/p>\n

Those designated high-risk may be required to stay in mental health hospitals longer, require more security and may also only be allowed to leave a facility for supervised appointments.<\/p>\n

Court heard Farley has been a model patient, is engaged in his mental health treatment plan and has researched his bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n

Champagne says Farley does continue to pose a threat to public safety, and will remain detained at a mental health facility, but additional privileges could be introduced in the future.<\/p>\n

Farley was found not criminally responsible in the 2021 slaying of his 73-year-old parents and the stabbing of his co-worker.<\/p>\n
