{"id":741330,"date":"2026-06-16T21:30:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T21:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/741330\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T21:30:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T21:30:20","slug":"man-charged-after-woman-allegedly-sprayed-with-aerosol-irritant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/741330\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged after woman allegedly sprayed with aerosol irritant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>York Regional Police (YRP) say a Mississauga man has been charged <a href=\"https:\/\/toronto.citynews.ca\/2026\/06\/02\/vaughan-assault-investigation-aerosol-suspect-sought\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after a woman was sprayed with an aerosol irritant<\/a> during what investigators are treating as a hate\u2011motivated assault at a Vaughan community event late last month.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened on May 28 around 7:55 p.m., when officers were called to a weapons report in the area of Steeles Avenue West and New Westminster Drive.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the victim was attending a community gathering when she was approached by an unknown man.
