Cyclists invited to help shape Northumberland\u2019s next cycling guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sc-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/noco-cycling.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Northumberland County Tourism is asking cyclists to help shape the future of cycling in the region while offering the chance to win a prize package valued at more than $1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Through the new Cycle Northumberland Contest, cyclists are invited to complete a short survey sharing their riding preferences, favourite routes and the types of information they would like to see in future cycling resources.<\/p>\n<p>Destination Marketing Coordinator Angela Johnson says Northumberland has become a popular destination for cyclists thanks to its mix of road cycling, trails, forests and bike-friendly businesses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media-cdn.socastsrm.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/2120\/files\/2026\/06\/june17-johnson-01.mp3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/media-cdn.socastsrm.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/2120\/files\/2026\/06\/june17-johnson-01.mp3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Johnson says those certifications mean cyclists can find amenities such as bike racks, repair tools, healthy food options and cycling information designed to make their visit easier and more enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond promoting cycling, the County is looking for feedback directly from riders as it updates its cycling guide and online resources.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media-cdn.socastsrm.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/2120\/files\/2026\/06\/june17-johnson-02.mp3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/media-cdn.socastsrm.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/2120\/files\/2026\/06\/june17-johnson-02.mp3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The prize package includes a one-night stay and dinner for two at Hotel Carlyle in Port Hope, a $500 gift card to Century Cycle in Colborne and a cyclist-themed gift basket featuring additional Northumberland-inspired prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson says the initiative is aimed at both visitors and local riders, encouraging people to discover more of what Northumberland has to offer, whether they\u2019re exploring a new route close to home or planning a cycling getaway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media-cdn.socastsrm.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/2120\/files\/2026\/06\/june17-johnson-03.mp3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/media-cdn.socastsrm.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/2120\/files\/2026\/06\/june17-johnson-03.mp3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The contest runs until September 7.
