The 66-year-old shared the news in the final episodes of season five of Clarkson’s Farm<\/a>, telling co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper: \u201cI\u2019ve got cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n After Cooper asked where the cancer was, Clarkson replied: \u201cWhere it is is of no concern of anybody. I\u2019ve known since May.\u201d <\/p>\n He said he underwent a biopsy after a medical check-up and was told the cancer was aggressive, but had been caught at a \u201creally early\u201d stage.<\/p>\n In the episodes that dropped overnight into Wednesday, Clarkson says he expects to undergo surgery within weeks and that he will be \u201cslightly out of action\u201d during recovery. He adds that he had hoped to finish the harvest before beginning treatment, but said it would instead fall \u201cslap bang in the middle\u201d. <\/p>\n He later reveals that the cancer was in his prostate<\/a> and that he had undergone a procedure to remove part of it. <\/p>\n \u201cThe prostate, 10 per cent of it\u2019s dead,\u201d he said. \u201cThe 10 per cent where the cancer is.\u201d<\/p>\n Later in the episode, he is seen speaking from a hospital bed, saying some of the treatment had \u201cgone awry\u201d. \u201cI\u2019m going to be here for a little while,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I\u2019ll see you in season six, and if it isn\u2019t, I won\u2019t,\u201d he said. \u201cTake care, everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Best known as the outspoken former host of long-running motoring series Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson later returned to screens with The Grand Tour and the hit farming series Clarkson’s Farm<\/a>.<\/p>\n Before the final episodes of season five of Clarkson’s Farm aired, Clarkson warned fans on Instagram that they would be \u201creally, really difficult\u201d to watch. <\/p>\n In a 2025 column for The Sunday Times, Clarkson had written that he gets medical check-ups<\/a> every couple of years and undergoes regular prostate examinations.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve had too many friends go down with prostate cancer<\/a>, and all it takes to get on top of the situation early<\/a> is a moment or two of being a bit cross-eyed,\u201d he wrote. \u201cYou get the all-clear and the doc goes home happy. What\u2019s not to like?<\/p>\n Clarkson\u2019s Farm farmhand Gerald Cooper revealed in season three that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer before later being declared cancer-free in 2024. <\/p>\n Prostate cancer<\/a> develops in the prostate gland, a small gland below the bladder that helps produce semen. It is often slow-growing and symptomless in its early stages, and the risk rises with age, family history, and certain genetic mutations. <\/p>\n Common symptoms include frequent urination, difficulty peeing, weak urine flow, and blood in urine or semen; advanced cases may cause pelvic or back pain and unexplained weight loss.<\/p>\n According to Prostate Cancer UK, prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, with more than 64,000 new cases recorded in 2022.<\/p>\n Clarkson\u2019s cancer diagnosis comes less than two years after a major heart scare<\/a>. In the opening episode of season five of Clarkson’s Farm, he revealed doctors had told him he may have been days away from a heart attack<\/a> after discovering severe coronary artery disease. <\/p>\n Clarkson said one artery was completely blocked, while two others were dangerously clogged, leaving his heart starved of blood before doctors inserted stents.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m back and not dead,\u201d he told Cooper, adding: \u201cThe grim reaper will have to wait. It was f***ing close, though.\u201d <\/p>\n He added that he began getting pins and needles in his arm while scrolling through his phone, which prompted him to see a doctor.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was just coincidental \u2013 I was scrolling on my phone.
