Videos posted\u00a0on social media yesterday showed a moose running around Thessalon.<\/p>\n
SooToday caught up with two people who shared those videos.<\/p>\n
Allie Simons was shocked to see the moose running around town.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
It \u201cwas in the middle of Huron\u00a0Street West\u00a0and ran behind Kosmos restaurant, through the back alley across a residential yard, and swam across the river to Water Street,\u201d Simons said.<\/p>\n
John Degen filmed the moose after it emerged from the river. He thinks it was a young cow moose.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cShe swam across the Thessalon River, looking for a way out of town, and popped up on the riverbank right in front of me and my little dog,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe backed away to give her space and an escape route, but she gave me time to capture a bit of video.\u201d<\/p>\n
Degen\u2019s dog, Birdy, can be heard barking at the moose at the end of the video.
