to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/los-angeles-angels\/227\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/los-angeles-angels\/227\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Angels<\/a> for cash considerations, the team announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Heineman, 34, slashed .154\/.205\/.205 with one home run and six RBI in 31 games for the Blue Jays this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 5-foot-10 catcher played parts of three seasons in Toronto, acting primarily as the backup catcher to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/alejandro-kirk\/1071614\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/alejandro-kirk\/1071614\" target=\"_blank\">Alejandro Kirk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The move comes after Kirk returned from the injured list and the team opting to keep rookie catcher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/brandon-valenzuela\/1118385\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/brandon-valenzuela\/1118385\" target=\"_blank\">Brandon Valenzuela<\/a>, who is hitting .254 with seven home runs with 18 RBI in 47 games this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Drafted in the eighth round by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/houston-astros\/242\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/houston-astros\/242\" target=\"_blank\">Houston Astros<\/a> in 2012, Heineman has a career .226 batting average with five home runs and 41 RBI split between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/miami-marlins\/252\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/miami-marlins\/252\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Marlins<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-francisco-giants\/250\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-francisco-giants\/250\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco Giants<\/a>, Blue Jays, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/pittsburgh-pirates\/247\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/pittsburgh-pirates\/247\" target=\"_blank\">Pittsburgh target=\"_blank\">Boston Red Sox<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Blue Jays sit in third place in the American League East with a 35-38 record and are 10 games back of the <a
