The IPL 2008 \u2018slapgate\u2019 incident was a controversial moment when Harbhajan Singh<\/a> slapped S Sreesanth <\/a>after MI lost to KXIP by one run. However, in the coming years, both players appeared to heal old wounds but now they have reopened. This comes in wake of Harbhajan shooting an ad where the incident is referenced. Sreesanth was shown an old photograph of him and Harbhajan dressed in boxing gear during an interaction with Lallantop. <\/p>\n

In response, Sreesanth has challenged Harbhajan to fight in the boxing ring. The former India pacer as asked the legendary spinner to put on the gloves and see if the situation is the same. He issued a direct challenge to settle things in the boxing ring. <\/p>\n

“This same scene, do you have the guts? Do you have the guts to come into the ring with me? Can you sign and come? Can you? I am asking him. Do you have the guts to come into the ring with me? Wearing this same gloves… This is not acting, I am smiling. You are not even smiling, I don’t know what you are doing. Let’s see. This is an open challenge,” he said.\n<\/p>\n

“I am currently in the Bear Knuckle Fight League, and I am also one of the main sponsors of Conor McGregor’s video; one of my good friends sponsored it, so the promotion is also done. I am challenging you, Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh),” he added.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“I challenge you, Bhajji. If you have this much of a problem with the slap thing and me, and you earn this much… let me earn too. Come into the ring. I am calling you from my heart. If we have some self-respect, let’s not do ads and all that. In a genuine way, for all the Malayalis and all the Sardars, please come. I am waiting,” he went on to say.<\/p>\n

Diverging Paths<\/p>\n

Sreesanth and Harbhajan were both part of the Indian sides that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. Sreesanth was later part of the IPL 2013 spot fixing scandal and handed a life ban by the BCCI which was then overturned later on.
