This Friday a very important step was taken as they announced the renewal of Tobias and Anders Johannessen ahead of the Tour de France.”The twins stay! Tobias and Anders Halland Johannessen have both signed contract extensions with Uno-X Mobility Cycling until the end of 2028,” the team announced on an Instagram post. That means two more years with the twins from Drøbak in red and yellow – climbing, smiling, suffering and reminding everyone that it’s Halland, not Haaland”.

“I want to become the best cyclist I can be, and I believe I can do that at Uno-X,” Anders Johannessen said. The lesser known of the twins was the winner of the 2025 Tour of Slovenia which is now ongoing, before he made his Tour de France debut.

There, he assisted his brother to a sixth place in the overall classification which set a landmark for what the team could achieve in the Grand Tours. “I feel there is no ceiling on what we are doing,” Tobias added. Both are expected to be part of the upcoming Grand Boucle, working towards the overall classification once again.

Tobias Johannessen on the final podium of Milano-Torino 2026

Uno-X secure their man for the future

It may come as a surprise that the Norwegian outfit has been able to keep Johannessen in its ranks throughout his entire career. He was the winner of the Tour de l’Avenir in 2021 and turned pro the next year with the team. His talent was never hidden and his success in the elite ranks is not a surprise, but despite this the team has been able to maintain him in a landscape that now includes several teams with budgets that are close to double of Uno-X.

Last summer the 26-year old finished fifth at the Tour Auvergne – Rhône Alpes and then sixth at the Tour, confirming his credentials as a Grand Tour specialist. This season the Norwegian has not slowed down one bit, finishing ninth at the UAE Tour, fourth at Tirreno-Adriatico, third at Itzulia Basque Country and fifth at Auvergne recently.

A rider with tremendous climbing quality but also one who often escapes under the radar – both his Itzulia and Auvergne GC results were fruit of an early bad day and a big GC leap later on due to breakaway performances.

Johannessen was Top3 in all three mountain stages of the French race and sets off as a clear contender for a Top10 result at the Tour de France, something he achieved last year with the team being ProTeam level, something that has not only brough absolutely key UCI points for its promotion, but also a big reputation leap.

[445
235613,49,48,635,82,14507,131890,14508
post-747359","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cycling","tag-anders-johannessen","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-cycling","tag-sports","tag-tobias-johannessen","tag-transfers-negotiations","tag-uno-x-mobility
["GET
