\n\tGuests at a hotel in Alaska<\/a> found eight pages of documents from President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s meetings Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/a> in a printer, NPR<\/a> reported Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe documents<\/a> show the schedule of the summit with times and locations. They also show the lunch menu, the lunch seating chart, and the phone numbers of three of Trump administration staffers. The documents were found in a printer at Hotel Captain Cook, a four-star hotel in Anchorage that is near the military base where the summit took place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump and Putin have had a hot and cold relationship, with Trump alternately taunting<\/a> him and praising<\/a> him. On Friday, the two leaders walked a red carpet together, as they met to discuss a potential end to Russia<\/a>\u2019s war in Ukraine<\/a>. The meeting ended abruptly without a Ukraine ceasefire deal. Trump told reporters<\/a> it was \u201can extremely productive meeting,\u201d but they \u201cdidn\u2019t get there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think the meeting was a 10,\u201d Trump told<\/a> Fox News\u2019 Sean Hannity.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe documents show which officials were involved in the summit. A \u201c2:2\u201d meeting took place among Trump; Steve Witkoff, special envoy for peace missions; Putin; and Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Putin for foreign policy and Putin\u2019s \u201cAmerica guru<\/a>.\u201d Secretary of State Marco Rubio<\/a>, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth<\/a>, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent were also involved, among others.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe documents show that Trump planned to give Putin an \u201cAmerican bald eagle desk statue.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe discovery of the documents \u201cstrikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration,\u201d Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA, told NPR. \u201cYou just don\u2019t leave things in printers. It\u2019s that simple.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis document breach is reminiscent of when Trump administration officials added Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg<\/a> to a Signal<\/a> chat where they discussed plans to bomb Yemen \u2014 though likely less embarrassing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe lunch, which did not end up happening, was to be held \u201cin honor of his excellency Vladimir Putin.\u201d The seating chart shows assigned spots for 13 officials, with Americans on one side and Russians on the other. Meeting organizers planned to serve filet mignon, halibut Olympia, and cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe White House and the State Department did not respond to NPR\u2019s questions about the documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant<\/a> for Putin for war crimes \u2014 which Trump ignored \u2014 making Alaska a safe place for Putin to fly to and avoid arrest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThrough this meeting, Putin has \u201cbroken out of international isolation\u201d and \u201cwasn\u2019t in the least challenged\u201d by Trump, Laurie Bristow, a former British ambassador to Russia, told the Associated Press<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
