{"id":752124,"date":"2026-06-21T19:19:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T19:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/752124\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T19:19:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T19:19:08","slug":"video-bandits-roar-back-from-defeat-to-down-honey-badgers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/752124\/","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: Bandits roar back from defeat to down Honey Badgers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              VIDEO: Bandits roar back from defeat to down Honey Badgers<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 10:30 am Sunday, June 21, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Vancouver Bandits erupted for 61 second-half points en route to a 102-81 rout of Brampton Honey Badgers before a sold-out crowd at Envision Financial Court at Langley Events Centre on Saturday night, improving their record to 8-4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Going into the game, the team was coming off back-to-back losses, including a lopsided 33-point defeat two nights earlier in Winnipeg, which knocked them out of first place in the Canadian Elite Basketball League\u2019s Western Conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just wanted to get back to our identity because we know we\u2019re a better club than we\u2019ve shown these last two games,\u201d said Lloyd Pandi, a CEBL veteran making his Bandits debut <a href=\"https:\/\/langleyadvancetimes.com\/2026\/06\/20\/video-bandits-add-standout-university-player\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">after signing with the club this week. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mitch Creek \u2013 playing his second game <a href=\"https:\/\/langleyadvancetimes.com\/2026\/06\/14\/mitch-creek-returns-to-vancouver-bandits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">since returning to Vancouver last week<\/a> \u2013 picked up where he left off from his 2025 CEBL MVP season, scoring 26 points while adding eight rebounds and eight assists.<\/p>\n<p>Jarkel Joiner added 22 points and eight assists, Tyrese Samuel finished with a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds), Miller Kopp had 15 points and Pandi had eight points and five rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey get back with urgency and then when you drive to the paint, they make you earn it, they make it really challenging,\u201d said Honey Badgers head coach Alex Cerda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think collectively, they\u2019re better as a team defending than as opposed to individual defenders, but they really cover for one another, and they defend with multiple efforts. It really presented a problem for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was the club\u2019s third annual South Asian Heritage Night, featuring a performance by internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter, and music producer Sukshinder Shinda.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Next, Bandits are back in action on Saturday, June 27 at 6 p.m. as they host the Winnipeg Sea Bears at Envision Financial Court at Langley Events Centre for Filipino Heritage Night.
