For former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, watching his son Cameron Boozer prepare for the NBA Draft is a moment filled with pride, excitement, and reflection.

Carlos Boozer enjoyed a highly successful 13-year NBA career, earning two All-Star selections and helping establish himself as one of the league’s most respected power forwards. Now, he has a front-row seat as Cameron emerges as one of the most highly regarded prospects in the 2026 NBA Draft class.

The journey has been years in the making. Cameron has consistently been viewed as one of the top young players in the country, combining elite scoring ability, rebounding, basketball IQ, and leadership. While his talent has drawn widespread attention from scouts and executives, Cameron credits much of his development to the guidance he has received from his father and twin brother, Cayden.

“I think the biggest thing is just having him around me,” Cameron said at the NBA Draft Combine. “When you have someone like my dad that’s been through it and been through the ups and downs and had success at the highest level, it’s nice to have someone like that in my corner.”

Carlos Boozer embraces Cameron’s NBA Draft journey

That mentorship has helped Cameron navigate the pressure and expectations that come with being a top prospect. Few players entering the NBA have access to firsthand advice from someone who experienced the league’s highest levels of success.

Cameron also highlighted the impact of competing alongside his twin brother throughout their basketball journey.

“With Cayden, it’s great sharing the court with someone who loves the game as much as I do,” Cameron said. “Someone who pushes me every day to be better.”

For Carlos, seeing both sons grow into elite players has been especially rewarding. The lessons he learned throughout his professional career have helped shape their development on and off the court.

As draft night approaches, the Boozer family is preparing for a milestone moment. For Cameron, it represents the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. For Carlos, it is the opportunity to watch the next generation carry on a family basketball legacy that continues to grow stronger with each passing year.
