{"id":752790,"date":"2026-06-22T02:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T02:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/752790\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T02:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T02:59:08","slug":"report-thunder-trading-aaron-wiggins-to-hawks-for-two-second-round-picks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/752790\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Thunder trading Aaron Wiggins to Hawks for two second-round picks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/atlanta-hawks\/\" class=\"sn-team-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-team=\"atlanta-hawks\" data-league=\"nba\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Atlanta Hawks<\/a> have added another guard to their young, talented roster. <\/p>\n<p>The Thunder are finalizing a deal to send <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/basketball\/nba\/players\/aaron-wiggins\/d3b28775-473d-471a-8452-e913f4347f0f\" class=\"sn-player-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-player=\"d3b28775-473d-471a-8452-e913f4347f0f\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Aaron Wiggins<\/a> to the Hawks in exchange for two second-round picks, ESPN&#8217;s Shams Charania <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/2068883152299299078?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">reported<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The two picks are Atlanta&#8217;s second-rounder in 2030 and the least favourable of the Hawks or Lakers in 2032, Charania added.<\/p>\n<p>Wiggins has developed into a serviceable role player since being drafted 55th overall by the Thunder in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025-26, he averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 65 games. He also shot 43.1 per cent from the field and 35.6 per cent from three. <\/p>\n<p>Wiggins broke through in 2024-25, as the Thunder charged to an NBA Championship. He averaged career highs in points (12), rebounds (3.9) and assists (1.8) while appearing in 76 games.<\/p>\n<p>Bringing in the 27-year-old Wiggins is the second move of the day for the Hawks.
