\n\tGal Gadot<\/a> is giving her perspective on why Disney\u2019s live-action \u201cSnow White<\/a>\u201d remake underperformed at the box office.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a recent appearance on the Israeli TV program \u201cThe A Talks<\/a>,\u201d in which guests are interviewed by individuals on the autism spectrum, Gadot said \u201cSnow White\u2019s\u201d poor box office performance was partially because of \u201cpressure\u201d in Hollywood to \u201cspeak against Israel\u201d amid the ongoing conflict with Palestine.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know, this happens a lot in various industries, including Hollywood,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel. And, you know, it happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, \u201cI can always explain and try to give context about what\u2019s happening here. And I always do that. But in the end, people make their own decisions. And I was disappointed that the movie was incredibly affected by all of that and that it didn\u2019t do well at the box office. But that\u2019s how it goes. You win some, you lose some.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlongside Gadot, the film starred Rachel Zegler as the titular Disney princess, Andrew Burnap as the Prince Charming stand-in Jonathan, Patrick Page as the Magic Mirror and Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman.<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite the poor commercial reception, Variety film critic Owen Gleiberman was keen on the \u201cSnow White,\u201d writing in his review<\/a>, \u201cWith all the turmoil besetting the real world, you\u2019d think there might be more important things to inflate into controversies than the pre-release kerfuffles that have plagued \u2018Snow White.\u2019 As it turns out, this is one of the better live-action adaptations of a Disney animated feature.
