K-pop girl group Hearts2Hearts is officially in its summer era. <\/p>\n

SM Entertainment’s buzzy rookie group dropped its new minialbum “Lemon Tang” Monday, ready to take over summer playlists with a sound as sweet and tangy as the title suggests.<\/p>\n

The eight-member group debuted in February 2025 and has been racking up hits ever since, channeling the same girlish, slightly mysterious charm that made label seniors Girls’ Generation and f(x) icons, this time through tracks like “The Chase,” “STYLE” and “FOCUS.”<\/p>\n

Then came “RUDE!” in February. Powered by its fizzy production and a scene-stealing part from member Stella, the single turned into a global hit.<\/p>\n

Just hours before “Lemon Tang” dropped, all eight members \u2014 Jiwoo, Carmen, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A-na, Ian and Ye-on \u2014 sat down with press at Blue Square in Yongsan District, Seoul, all smiles about following up the success of “RUDE!”<\/p>\n

“I’m still so thankful for how much love ‘RUDE!’ got. The first half of this year was a lot, but a good kind of a lot,” Stella said. “Hitting our goal of topping the rookie charts last year meant everything. I really feel like we’ve gotten closer to our fans, and that gave me the energy to get ready for this album.”<\/p>\n

“Honestly, I want this whole year to be ‘RUDE!’ in the first half and ‘Lemon Tang’ in the second,” Carmen said.<\/p>\n

Asked what sets Hearts2Hearts apart in a saturated girl group market, youngest member Ye-on answered with her trademark smiling eyes.<\/p>\n

“It still doesn’t feel real seeing our songs near the top of the charts. I’m so grateful,” she said. “I think people connect with our music because it gives off positive energy, and that ends up putting listeners in a good mood too. We poured a lot of our own personality into this album.”<\/p>\n

The members described the new six-track minialbum as Hearts2Hearts at its most free and sparkling, the kind of energy that matches a perfect summer day.<\/p>\n

The title track gets its name from pairing the sourness of lemon with the punch of “tang,” and the result is exactly that, \u2014 bright, upbeat and bursting with summer feeling. Its lyrics follow a simple idea: A lemon alone is sharp and sour, but put it together with another food and that sourness turns into charm.<\/p>\n

“Our song ‘STYLE’ from last summer already got a lot of love, but this one’s even more refreshing,” A-na said. “It just gives off this cool, feel-good energy when you listen.”<\/p>\n

“The second I heard it, I felt summer instantly, and everyone loved it right away,” Yuha said. “It captures our bright energy so well that it just made sense as the title track.”<\/p>\n

Rounding out the album are “15-LOVE,” “Baby Steps,” “heart emoji” and “Secret Recipe,” alongside “RUDE!”<\/p>\n

The lemon concept also sparked some chatter online, since it overlaps with labelmate girl group aespa’s May comeback single “LEMONADE,” which runs with a similar citrus theme.<\/p>\n

Leader Jiwoo addressed it head-on, saying she’d already talked it over with aespa’s Karina.<\/p>\n

“We actually ran into each other doing a challenge video recently and laughed about coming back with the same theme around the same time,” Jiwoo said. “She told me she hoped it goes well for us.”<\/p>\n

She added that the two songs land in different places. <\/p>\n

“‘LEMONADE’ leans into that cool, electric kind of sourness. ‘Lemon Tang’ is more about how things turn sweet and bright when you’re with someone else,” Jiwoo said. “I’d love for people to see that for themselves through the stages.”<\/p>\n

As for what’s next, Ian said she just wants to take over people’s playlists completely.<\/p>\n

“Like our name says, Hearts2Hearts, our goal is to send a message that travels straight from heart to heart,” Juun said.<\/p>\n
