{"id":753920,"date":"2026-06-22T16:37:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T16:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/753920\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T16:37:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T16:37:08","slug":"brampton-man-dies-after-drowning-at-gravenhurst-wharf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/753920\/","title":{"rendered":"Brampton man dies after drowning at Gravenhurst wharf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Police say the man failed to resurface after jumping into the water near the Ungerman Park cliffs on Saturday evening<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"213\" data-start=\"112\">A 28-year-old Brampton man has died following a drowning incident in Gravenhurst on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"439\" data-start=\"215\">According to the Bracebridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, emergency crews were called to the Gravenhurst Wharf on Steamship Bay Road at approximately 5:50 p.m. on June 21 after reports of a possible drowning.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"590\" data-start=\"441\">Police say a group of people had been spending time at the Ungerman Park cliffs when one individual failed to resurface after jumping into the water.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"758\" data-start=\"592\">The man was pulled from the water and transported to the Muskoka Wharf by nearby boaters.
