Be Prepared. Stay Safe<\/p>\n<p>Track weather updates, avoid flooded areas, and take action to protect yourself and your family this summer.<\/p>\n<p>When flooding is possible or about to occur, TRCA issues flood messages to municipalities, local agencies, school boards, elected officials, media, and the public \u2013 so you can get the information you need, when you need it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; padding-top: 15px;\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary met-btn\" style=\"margin-bottom: 4px;\" href=\"https:\/\/trca.ca\/conservation\/flood-risk-management\/sign-up-for-flood-messages\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sign up for Flood Messages by Email and Text<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spending Time Outside this Summer?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; margin-bottom: 30px:\">Conditions can change quickly<br \/>Stay alert and follow these safety tips<\/p>\n<p>Avoid rivers and waterways during <a href=\"https:\/\/trca.ca\/conservation\/flood-risk-management\/sign-up-for-flood-messages\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TRCA flood messages<\/a>. When TRCA issues flood messages, water levels can rise quickly. Stay away from riverbanks, streams, shorelines, parks, trails, and low-lying areas. Keep children and pets away, and leave the area immediately if conditions worsen.<br \/>\nBe aware of changing conditions. Water levels can rise quickly both during and after a storm. Check real-time water levels for your area at <a href=\"https:\/\/trcagauging.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">trcagauging.ca<\/a>.<br \/>\nStay informed. Check traffic before you go and limit travel during storm events. Follow municipality and transit updates via your local\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/trca.ca\/conservation\/flood-risk-management\/#social-media\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">municipal and public transit communications channels<\/a>.<br \/>\nTurn around and take an alternate route. Never drive, walk, or bike through floodwater.
