NEW YORK \u2014 Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> second baseman Ernie Clement<\/a> leads all American League players in fan balloting for the 2026 all-star game in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Clement moved ahead of Houston Astros<\/a> designated hitter Yordan Alvarez<\/a> in the latest voting update from Major League Baseball on Monday. <\/p>\n

Clement, who has a .292 average with seven homers and 28 RBIs over 75 games, has received 2,054,130 total votes, MLB said. The 30-year-old has a healthy lead on Ezequiel Duran<\/a> (531,182) of the Texas Rangers<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani<\/a> of the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> leads all players with 2,310,735 total votes.<\/p>\n

Toronto\u2019s Vladimir Guerrero Jr.<\/a> (1,458,461) is well ahead of New York\u2019s Ben Rice<\/a> (882,772) in the voting for AL first baseman. At third base, Blue Jays teammate Kazuma Okamoto<\/a> (1,282,884) is a close second behind Junior Caminero<\/a> (1,310,879) of the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Three other Toronto players –catcher Alejandro Kirk<\/a>, designated hitter George Springer<\/a> and shortstop Andres Gimenez<\/a> — are all second in positional voting but well behind the leaders. <\/p>\n

The first phase of voting continues until Thursday. The starters and full all-star rosters will be named on July 4.<\/p>\n
