Olympic<\/a> boxer Marissa Williamson Pohlman<\/a> has revealed she will not compete at this year\u2019s Commonwealth Games<\/a> in an explosive social media post, claiming she has been \u201cbullied\u201d and \u201cdiscriminated against\u201d by Boxing Australia.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old, who became the first Indigenous female boxer to represent the green and gold at the Olympics two years ago in Paris, had been advertised to compete in Glasgow later this year on multiple news outlets.<\/p>\n

Williamson Pohlman responded to a video from NITV on Thursday about her spot in the Australian team and claimed she was \u201cbullied\u201d by the governing body. <\/p>\n

She claims it stems from the 2024 sexual misconduct case involving Jamie Pittman<\/a>, who stood down as head coach but is now back with Boxing Australia in another role working in the high-performance department with youth and women.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am, in fact, not going to the Commonwealth Games,\u201d she said via Instagram<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been told that my face has appeared on multiple news outlets – I\u2019m not going to the Commonwealth Games. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you why, because Boxing Australia literally ruined my life and my career. Bullied me, re-victimised me, discriminated against me, all for what? Speaking up against … I\u2019m going to name him, Jamie Pittman, who still has a job working with youth and women – the women that were actually involved in his integrity matter. <\/p>\n

\u201cPlease stop using my f—–g face and my name to promote the Commonwealth Games, because I am not going – you robbed me of that opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can all literally go f–k yourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nine.com.au\u00a0is not suggesting the claims against Boxing Australia are true, only that they have been alleged by the athlete.<\/p>\n

Nine.com.au has contacted Boxing Australia for comment.<\/p>\n

Pittman admitted to and apologised for sexual misconduct involving female fighters at a National Sports Tribunal hearing in April 2024 and withdrew from his coaching position at the time over behaviour that was described as \u201cdisgusting\u201d, \u201coffensive\u201d and \u201cinappropriate\u201d by several athletes and at least one coach.<\/p>\n

At the time, the tribunal recommended a six-month suspension for Pittman, which was to be backdated to November 2023.<\/p>\n
