ROSES AND ROTTEN TOMATOES: Tomatoes for monstrous homes in Surrey

Published 7:00 am Thursday, June 25, 2026

• Rotten Tomatoes for the Surrey development department for allowing three-storey single-family homes. Not just a basement and two storeys but three storeys stories above ground. This is a complete monstrosity with respect to the neighbours. Moreover, such homes have at least 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms but a two-car garage that is full of household junk after moving in and 10 cars parked on the street. This city has become absolutely hideous in terms of development. Highrises everywhere you look, no infrastructure, no schools, no hospitals, just monstrous houses and garbage everywhere. The solution is not to turn a blind eye to everything, but to demand that the administration of this city behave with respect for its residents, the administration that is paid for with our money. It’s time to elect responsible city leadership.

• I would love to return the Rotten Tomatoes to the person who posted about Stage 2 water restrictions. Perhaps it would help to read what is actually permitted under the restrictions. Under Surrey’s Stage 2 water restrictions, you may wash or pressure wash outdoor surfaces at any day and any time using a handheld hose or pressure washer. You may also continue to water trees and shrubs after 9 a.m.

• Rotten Tomatoes to those in charge of Surrey for overlooking the safety of all Surrey residents who live in older areas of Surrey. We have missing curbs and sidewalks, narrow roads where roads have been pushed through. Some of these subdivisions are over 50 years old. If not now, then when? We will vote for a mayor who will look after our safety. To those who overlook/ignore Surrey taxpayers – we pay your wages with Surrey taxes.
