A new exhibition featuring works by Japanese multimedia artist Yoko Ono opened at the Sak\u0131p Sabanc\u0131 Museum (SSM) in Istanbul on Wednesday with a private reception attended by leading figures from business, arts and society.<\/p>\n

Titled “Yoko Ono: Insound and Instructure,\u201d the exhibition is hosted by Sabanc\u0131 University Sak\u0131p Sabanc\u0131 Museum with support from Turkish lender Akbank and in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y Le\u00f3n (MUSAC) in Spain.<\/p>\n

The opening event took place at the museum\u2019s campus in Istanbul\u2019s Emirgan district and was hosted by Akbank Chairwoman Suzan Sabanc\u0131, Akbank CEO Kaan G\u00fcr and museum director Ahu Antmen.<\/p>\n

Guests included prominent Turkish business and cultural figures such as G\u00fcler Sabanc\u0131, \u00c7i\u011fdem Simavi, Melisa Sabanc\u0131 Tapan, fashion designer Dilek Hanif, photographer Arslan S\u00fckan, Tansa Mermerci and Esra Civelek.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Suzan Sabanc\u0131 said Akbank prioritizes corporate social responsibility efforts in entrepreneurship, education and culture-arts, with a particular emphasis on contemporary art.<\/p>\n

\u201cContemporary art encourages people to think, question and look at the world from a different perspective,\u201d she said. \u201cSince its establishment, we have been excited to realize different projects with the Sak\u0131p Sabanc\u0131 Museum. This year, we are pleased to bring the works of Yoko Ono, one of the most original figures in contemporary art, to audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabanc\u0131 said the exhibition spans poetry, video, sculpture and installations, offering visitors a \u201cmultilayered, living experience\u201d beyond a traditional museum visit.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be open to visitors from June 25 through Dec. 27, 2026, at the Sak\u0131p Sabanc\u0131 Museum in Istanbul.<\/p>\n
