On Tuesday, Jake Reiner<\/a> made his first public appearance since his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner<\/a>, were killed last December<\/a>. Reiner attended the premiere of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, a new HBO show from Rob Reiner\u2019s longtime friend Larry David. In an Instagram post, Reiner shared that he has a role in the first episode. Per his IMDb, he\u2019s playing someone named Private Wallace.<\/p>\n In April, Reiner published an essay on Substack memorializing his parents. \u201cNothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents instantly at the same time,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s too devastating to comprehend. I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it\u2019s not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n Nick Reiner, Jake\u2019s brother, was arrested shortly after Rob and Michele Reiner\u2019s bodies were discovered by their daughter, Romy Reiner. Nick was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is currently awaiting trial at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. In February, he pleaded not guilty<\/a> to both charges.<\/p>\n In his essay, Reiner wrote that everything surrounding his parents\u2019 death has been \u201calmost too impossible to process.\u201d \u201cI understand that people have questions about what happened,\u201d he shared. \u201cSome of those answers will come in time.
