Beyond just reviving the standard Pebble smartwatch, Canadian CEO Eric Migicovsky is also working on a slightly fancier Pebble Time 2.<\/p>\n
This is a successor to the original Pebble Time, which was released during the first wave of Pebble\u2019s popularity around 2016. There was actually a planned Pebble Time 2, but when the brand was bought by Fitbit<\/a>, it was scrapped.<\/p>\n Now Migicovsky is bringing it back with four colour options. There will be black and silver options, a version with a black face and red accents, and one with a silver face and blue accents. These watches will fit on regular 22mm watch straps, giving you ample customization options down the line.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The upgraded smartwatch will have a stainless steel front and back with stainless steel buttons. It also has a coloured e-ink screen, a compass sensor, and a backlight. The company is currently estimating a 30-day battery life, which is in line with the other new Pebble that came out this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n The new metal version of the watch is US$225 (C$310), and if you\u2019ve already ordered the Pebble 2 Duo, you can upgrade your pre-order. However, there is a chance this will delay your order, since the Time 2 isn\u2019t shipping until December.<\/p>\n It should also be noted that Migicovsky has clarified that due to limitations with iOS, the new Pebble watches work much better on Android.
