Prince William is officially a billionaire \u2014 and richer than his dad, King Charles III.<\/p>\n
The Prince of Wales has a net worth of $1.6 billion thanks to his royal estate, Duchy of Cornwall<\/a>, which he inherited when Charles\u00a0became king in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n The statistic was revealed in the Sovereign Grant\u2019s newly-published yearly accounts, according to the Mirror.<\/a><\/p>\n Prince William (seen above at SXSW London 2026) has reached billionaire status, according to the Sovereign Grant\u2019s yearly accounts. Getty Images<\/p>\n William, per the accounts, received a private income of $28.5 million in 2025-2026.<\/p>\n The 44-year-old heir to the throne<\/a> also reportedly paid over $26 million in taxes since becoming the Prince of Wales four years ago.<\/p>\n Charles, meanwhile, is still not at billionaire status. <\/p>\n The 77-year-old king has an estimated personal fortune of $846 million, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.<\/a><\/p>\n He was worth nearly $40 million less the year before, per the list.<\/p>\n William (seen above with Charles at Trooping the Colour 2026) reportedly received a private income of $28.5 million in 2025-2026. Getty Images<\/p>\n Page Six has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.<\/p>\n The Duchy of Cornwall, which is William\u2019s primary source of income, is a private estate that covers William, Kate Middleton and\u00a0their three children<\/a>\u00a0for their official, charitable and private activities.<\/p>\n It was established in 1337 by King Edward III to provide funds for the heir to the throne for generations to come. <\/p>\n Physically, the estate covers roughly 205 square miles of land across the United Kingdom, which includes over 20 counties.<\/p>\n William is now richer than Charles (seen above at Buckingham Palace in May 2025), who is worth an estimated $846 million. Getty Images<\/p>\n Charles, for his part, controlled the Duchy of Cornwall for 53 years. <\/p>\n He took over the wealthy estate in 1969, when he turned 21, and handed over the reigns to William when he became king upon Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s death in September 2022 at age 96.<\/a><\/p>\n Once Charles took the throne, he officially surpassed Elizabeth\u2019s personal wealth, as he inherited her private fortune, such as Balmoral Castle and Sandringham Estate, that combined with his own worth.<\/p>\n
