17th August 2025 \u2013 (Hong Kong) A viral video circulating online captures an elderly man performing morning exercises, specifically a \u201cswinging arm workout,\u201d on an MTR platform in Hong Kong, seemingly undisturbed by his surroundings. The man is seen moving \u201cforwards, backwards, left, and right\u201d in a manner reminiscent of a martial arts description in classic wuxia novels, where \u201cordinary people wouldn\u2019t dare to approach him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another clip shows a different individual on the street using a signpost as if it were a wooden dummy for martial arts practice, producing loud \u201cthudding\u201d sounds with each strike.<\/p>\n

The unusual choice of the MTR platform for morning exercises sparked discussions among netizens. Some questioned why the man didn\u2019t opt for a park, speculating that concerns over diseases like Chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, or dengue fever might be a factor. Others suggested the air-conditioned environment of the MTR might have been more appealing, offering relief from mosquitoes commonly found in outdoor parks.<\/p>\n
