Abrams<\/a> and Bad Robot Productions CEO Katie McGrath, addressed the topic during an appearance on The New York Times\u2018 Popcast podcast, which was published on Thursday (June 25). <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/gracie-abrams-katie-mcgrath-01-scaled.jpg\" class=\"pss-trigger\" role=\"button\" data-pss-trigger=\"0\" aria-controls=\"pss-modal\" aria-label=\"Open gallery of 2 images.\" title=\"Open gallery of 2 images.\"><img loading=\"eager\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"788\" height=\"1182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/gracie-abrams-katie-mcgrath-01-788x1182.jpg\" alt=\"Katie McGrath, J.J. Abrams and Gracie Abrams<\/p>\n<p>Gracie Abrams discusses her privilege<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe nepo stuff is obviously in the discourse appropriately,\u201d Gracie said. \u201cI think about the privilege there, and it\u2019s like, I had a safety net, and that allowed me the ability to experiment and to concentrate, and I had the gift of time to dedicate to doing this thing I loved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI wasn\u2019t growing up afraid financially, and that\u2019s the biggest deal,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gracie also said her upbringing gave her access to a creative language and environment that shaped the way she approached her own work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe specific household that I was born into, there is just this vocabulary that I\u2019m so lucky to grow up with,\u201d she said. \u201cSo like, when I see people pointing that out, it\u2019s like, I get it, hard-core. We FaceTime.
