Evan Nurse, 23, of Vaughan, and Shemar Sallaby, 23, ofr Brampton have been arrested<\/p>\n
Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent early-morning carjacking in Brampton, following a months-long investigation by investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau.<\/p>\n
According to Peel Regional Police, the incident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 10, at approximately 2:10 a.m., when a man and woman were exiting their vehicle near Queen Street East and Goreway Drive in Brampton.<\/p>\n
Police say the couple was approached by two masked suspects. It is alleged the suspects assaulted the male victim before stealing the couple\u2019s vehicle and fleeing the area.<\/p>\n
One suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, while a second remained outstanding as the investigation continued.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, June 18, investigators located and arrested the second suspect following a targeted surveillance operation in Vaughan.<\/p>\n
As a result of the investigation, Evan Nurse, 23, of Vaughan, and Shemar Sallaby, 23, of Brampton, have each been charged with robbery, disguise with intent, flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime.<\/p>\n
Police say both accused were held for a bail hearing and later released by the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton under a number of conditions.<\/p>\n
