Trump calls meeting with Putin ‘very productive’ <\/p>\n

U.S. President Donald Trump said he and Russian President Vladamir Putin agreed on many points during their talks Friday about the war in Ukraine, but about any formal agreement, he said, ‘we haven’t quite got there, but we’ve made some headway. So there’s no deal until there’s a deal.’\n<\/p>\n

Trump has conceded that he and his Russian counterpart weren’t able to reach an agreement today to end the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t get there but we have a very good chance of getting there,” Trump told reporters after stepping out of a three-hour, face-to-face meeting.<\/p>\n

But he stressed that, in his view, the two had “an extremely productive meeting.”<\/p>\n

There are, however, some sticking points that still need to be resolved, Trump said. The U.S. president said there is one area in particular that hasn’t been sorted out yet \u2014 and that’s probably the “most significant.” <\/p>\n

It’s possible, although far from confirmed at this point, that Trump was referencing Russian demands about land swaps with Ukraine. <\/p>\n

Trump said he will \u201cprobably see\u201d Putin \u201cvery soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
