Weekday service frequencies will remain unchanged.

Also effective this week, MiWay has reduced service frequency on several bus routes due to “lower customer demand,” the transit agency said.

The impacted routes are:

7 Airport: The frequency on this route will be reduced on Saturdays between 2 and 7 p.m., from every 20-22 minutes to every 25 minutes.
17 Hurontario: The frequency on this route will be reduced on weekdays between 7 and 11 p.m., from every 14 minutes to every 20 minutes.
57/57A Courtneypark: The frequency on this route will be reduced on weekdays between 5 and 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 and 6 p.m., from approximately every 12 minutes to every 14 minutes. Two additional Route 57 Courtneypark westbound trips will be introduced — at 3:58 p.m. and 4:56 p.m. — to reduce overcrowding.

Transit officials said in their latest service update they continue to monitor customer ridership on all routes, which helps them understand trends over time.

“This data-driven approach allows MiWay to make changes to transit service that reflect the actual customer demand and allocate service to where it is needed most,” the agency said.

Other MiWay changes to take effect June 29 include the switchover to summer school bus service as regular school classes finish the end of June.

Transit officials said the regular 300-series school routes will not operate during the summer. However, they added, there will be summer school bus services that operate from July 6 to 31, including two new summer school routes.

Regular secondary school service will resume on Sept. 8.

Also starting this week, transit officials say schedule adjustments will be made on the following routes “to improve operational efficiency, improve connections or improve service reliability as traffic and ridership patterns continue to evolve throughout the city”:

4 North Service Road (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
7 Airport (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
13 Glen Erin (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
14 Lorne Park (weekdays)
29 Park Royal (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
36 Ridgeway (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
49 McDowell (weekdays)
51 Tomken (weekdays and Saturdays)
53 Kennedy (weekdays)
57 Courtneypark (weekdays)
107 Malton Express (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)

MiWay’s next service changes are scheduled to take effect on Sept. 7.

Visit MiWay online for more details on the latest service changes.

INsauga’s Editorial Standards and Policies

Last 30 Days: 41,777 Votes

All Time: 1,405,621 Votes

    1526 VOTES
Have you ever dined at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ontario?

WIN A $100 GIFT CARD

Subscribe to INsauga’s daily email newsletter for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card.

Public transit service in Mississauga just got better for bus riders looking to more easily connect with GO…

[194297
49,48,55405
post-769073","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mississauga","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-mississauga
["GET
