{"id":769712,"date":"2026-06-29T22:00:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T22:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/769712\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T22:00:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T22:00:18","slug":"metro-vancouver-city-gets-major-shoutout-from-hollywood-star-daily-hive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/769712\/","title":{"rendered":"Metro Vancouver city gets major shoutout from Hollywood star | Daily Hive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/news\/category\/movies-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Metro Vancouver\u2019s film industry<\/a> is buzzing with summer shoots, and Hollywood star Josh Duhamel is just the latest celebrity to fall in love with the region while filming.<\/p>\n<p>Duhamel is in Maple Ridge to film Runaway, a feature directed by James Clayton.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent Instagram video posted to his 2.5 million followers, the Transformers and\u00a0Las Vegas star shared that he was sitting in the middle of a \u201cbeautiful park\u201d outside of Maple Ridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo beautiful out here,\u201d Duhamel said as he panned his smartphone camera around to show the greenery and trees.<\/p>\n<p>Maple Ridge is a popular filming destination for movies, TV shows, and more.<\/p>\n<p>The city describes itself <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapleridge.ca\/build-do-business\/filming-maple-ridge-productions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">online<\/a> as a film-friendly community where \u201cstunning landscapes meet urban convenience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Projects that have filmed in Maple Ridge recently include Netflix\u2019s Remarkably Bright Creatures starring Sally Field and Dan Payne, Tracker starring Justin Hartley, and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/air-bud-sequel-vancouver-production\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Air Bud Returns<\/a>\u00a0starring the most excellent basketball-playing dog of all time.<\/p>\n<p>According to Creative BC\u2019s In Production List, Runaway is filming throughout Metro Vancouver until July 22.<\/p>\n<p>While Duhamel didn\u2019t identify which Maple Ridge greenspace the cast and crew were working in, one comment identified the area as Allco Park.<\/p>\n<p>Alco Park is a 27-acre area, about half of which is developed. Visitors can enjoy picnic facilities, walking and equestrian trails, and scenic forested spots.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"filming\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2288555\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/filming-1024x576.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2288555\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">City of Maple Ridge<\/p>\n<p>Several fans left well-wishes and welcomes on Duhamel\u2019s social media shoutout.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNice for you to be here in our beautiful province of B.C.
