TORONTO \u2014 George Springer<\/a> scored on a triple and an error in the first inning, and the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> defeated the New York Mets<\/a> 2-1 on Monday.<\/p>\n

Mets outfielders Juan Soto<\/a> and A.J. Ewing<\/a> combined to misplay Springer\u2019s line drive to left field, allowing the designated hitter to score. It was Springer\u2019s first triple of the season.<\/p>\n

The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Blue Jays (40-45), while the Mets (35-50) have lost nine of their last 10.<\/p>\n
