It has been a surprisingly busy day or so for big rumours in the comic book movie world.<\/p>\n

It began when scooper John Campea claimed that James Gunn\u2019s DCU has cast its Batman, with an actor onboard well ahead of the planned \u201cThe Brave and the Bold\u201d movie.<\/p>\n

Campea says: \u201cIt\u2019s not a name I would have guessed,\u201d but he\u2019d verified it with several well-positioned sources. In the wake of that, English actor Tom Brittney\u2019s name began to circulate on social media.<\/p>\n

If the name sounds familiar, it should. The \u201cGrantchester\u201d star, currently appearing in \u201cThe Westies\u201d and the upcoming \u201cFall 2: Deadpoint,\u201d was one of three finalists for Gunn\u2019s \u201cSuperman\u201d before losing it to David Corenswet.<\/p>\n

Nic Hoult was the third with that actor ultimately playing Lex Luthor. Gunn, meanwhile, publicly called Brittney: \u201ctruly one of my favourite actors, incredibly talented guy\u201d<\/p>\n

Next up, The Wrap<\/a> is reporting that DC Studios is reportedly prioritising the \u201cDeathstroke and Bane\u201d movie as likely the next live-action film to be released after \u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d. However, no director or cast is yet in place.<\/p>\n

Over at The Cosmic Circus<\/a>, they\u2019ve got an update on Marvel\u2019s post-Secret Wars slate and claims the priorities are \u2013 \u201cBlack Panther 3,\u201d \u201cShang-Chi 2,\u201d \u201cSpider-Man 5,\u201d \u201cX-Men,\u201d \u201cThunderbolts 2,\u201d \u201cBlade,\u201d \u201cMidnight Sons\u201d and the next \u201cAvengers\u201d while \u201cDoctor Strange 3 \u201d has been put on a backburner.<\/p>\n
