{"id":771347,"date":"2026-06-30T16:03:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T16:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/771347\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T16:03:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T16:03:10","slug":"how-brampton-is-managing-the-heat-during-canada-day-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/771347\/","title":{"rendered":"How Brampton is managing the heat during Canada Day events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada Day events are expected to go ahead as planned in Brampton, but the city is offering advice for attendees to deal with the heat.<\/p>\n<p>Much of southern Ontario is under an\u00a0intense and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/extreme-prolonged-heat-wave-expected-to-cover-much-of-southern-ontario\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">prolonged heat wave<\/a> this week, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. A heat warning is in effect from Tuesday to Friday, possibly continuing on the weekend in Brampton.<\/p>\n<p>On Canada Day, temperatures are expected to hit a high of 34 C, with the humidex; it could feel like 44 C.<\/p>\n<p>Canada Day celebrations at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/country-music-stars-fireworks-headline-canada-day-celebrations-in-brampton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Chinguacousy Park will include<\/a> live entertainment, family activities, food vendors and one of the city\u2019s largest fireworks displays. This year\u2019s lineup includes live performances from country music acts Emerson Drive and Lee Brice.<\/p>\n<p>The free, all-day event will run from noon until 10 p.m. and is expected to draw large crowds to the park.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of June 30, there are no changes to Canada event programming in Brampton, a city spokesperson told INsauga.com.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the city is encouraging attendees to come prepared for the heat. Bring a reusable water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the event, the city advises. Water refill stations will be available on-site.<\/p>\n<p>Dress for the weather by wearing lightweight clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
