Guests planning to celebrate Canada Day at Brampton\u2019s Chinguacousy Park are being urged to walk, ride or take transit as there will be road closures in place ahead of the big event.<\/p>\n
The city\u2019s free, all-day event starts Wednesday at noon and runs until 10 p.m., with a lineup that includes live performances from country music acts Emerson Drive and Lee Brice, along with family-focused attractions spread throughout the park.<\/p>\n
With a huge crowd expected again this year at Brampton\u2019s signature Canada Day destination, roads around the park will be closed and on-street parking will be extremely limited. But the city will have free shuttles running to the park from four locations to help visitors get to the park and celebrate safely.<\/p>\n
Shuttles will be running every 30 minutes from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with return service from the park operating every 30 minutes from 12:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Pick-up and drop-off locations are the Mount Pleasant GO Station, Trinity Common Mall, Sheridan College and the Gore Meadows Community Centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cResidents are encouraged to walk, cycle or take advantage of the City\u2019s free Brampton Transit shuttle service,\u201d the city says.<\/p>\n
Activities will include inflatable rides, games and slides, a petting zoo and pony rides, paddle boats, splash pad, wading pool, mini golf and more.\u00a0Food vendors, trucks and a licensed beer garden will also be on site throughout the day.<\/p>\n
