The team announcements for the Tour de France are really heating up now<\/a>, and Tudor is joining in on the action. The Swiss team announced its roster<\/a> on Monday morning, and it includes some huge names that have somewhat fallen from favour. Alaphilippe, Hirschi, Trentin… names that once would’ve walked onto any Tour de France team. Now Fabian Cancellara’s team call on them to fulfill just one goal: stage victories.A surprise name amongst those superstars is Arvid De Kleijn<\/a>. The young Dutchman has had a very difficult year, during which he was even beaten up by a group of youths<\/a>. Afterward, he made a comeback and showed improvement. \u201cHe\u2019s back in top form and a rider to watch during the fast sprints,\u201d said team manager Addy Engels.If it\u2019s not a pure bunch sprint but a somewhat tougher sprint, Tudor is counting on Matteo Trentin<\/a> and Rick Pluimers. \u201cThese are stages that are too tough for pure sprinters, and we\u2019re ready to seize our opportunities,\u201d Engels says, referring to the more challenging stages.<\/p>\n

\"pluimers-ronde\"\/Tudor counts on Alaphilippe and Hirschi’s Tour de France\u00a0experiencePerhaps the Swiss team\u2019s best hopes for stage victory: Julian Alaphilippe<\/a> and Marc Hirschi<\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re our breakaway specialists. We see opportunities for them on numerous stages, especially on days with explosive finishes that play to their strengths.\u201dIn the mountains, Tudor will then be counting on the legs of Michael Storer<\/a> and the young Yannis Voisard, while\u2014last but not least\u2014Marco Haller will have to keep everyone in position on the flats. But: \u201cHe\u2019s also a dangerous rider himself in breakaways and reduced-field sprints,\u201d his team notes, highlighting the threat posed by the Austrian.<\/p>\n

So there shouldn\u2019t be much ambiguity about their ambitions, but Engels emphasizes it once again: \u201cOur only goal: stage wins.\u201d The team also knows how to do it: \u201cWith a bold, attacking style, Tudor Pro Cycling is ready to dominate the race from Barcelona to Paris, proudly carry the team\u2019s colors, and remain true to its values and DNA.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will Micheal Storer ride for the GC or stage wins?<\/p>\n

\u201cOur only goal: stage wins,\u201d says Sports Director Addy Engels during the Tudor team announcement. That’s a pretty resounding no for Storer then, who finished 7th in the general classification at the 2026 Giro d’Italia. A good result for the team, who also saw young Frenchman Mathys Rondel finish 10th, 12.54 down on winner Vingegaard.<\/p>\n

Whether Storer is simply too tired to go for the GC again is not known. Whatever the reason, Tudor clealy have no GC ambitions at the 2026 Tour de France. They’ve left Rondel at home and look to win stages with their attacking veterans. Hopefully Storer will get his chances later in the race.<\/p>\n
